Yesterday morning I took 114 pictures before I left for work.

Of nothing.

Of everything.

It’s good to be back.

I’ve got a frog in my truck.

A few weeks ago, I passed by a friend at church.

I was going in; she was going out.

As she walked by, she said, “I’ve got a frog in my truck.”

Nonchalant. No big deal. Normal.

She and her son had been hunting frogs all day and found one right before they left for church.

So she put it in a cup of water for her son to hold onto.

And then her son dropped the cup.

And left her with a frog in the truck.

And you’ve got to know Whitney, but it really was….in a weird way….normal.

We’re birthday party-ing with them tomorrow for her son’s 2nd birthday, so here’s another round of the week’s highs and lows!!

HIGHS….

· friends who make it seem so normal to lose frogs in trucks

· birthdays…and with that, birthday parties

· milkshakes for supper (last night)

LOWS….

· headaches — it’s been a long week

· season finales*

· a closet full of clothes with nothing to wear

*Seriously, GREY’S?? I thought last week’s episode was the finale, so I wasn’t prepared for last night. Who’s with me in hoping Lexi’s still alive??? Weirder things have happened on television….just saying.

1. Remember when I used to post Ten on Tuesdays ON Tuesdays? Those were the days…..

2. And remember when I used to post them every single week????

3. Last weekend Mark’s dad and stepmom were in town for a quick visit (from Tennessee!!). It was nice to have them here, and the boys certainly enjoyed all the extra attention.

4. While they were here, we went to the Discovery Center in the city. We’d taken the boys before, but they’re finally at an age where they can both have fun there. We’ll most likely be purchasing an annual family pass. Science is so cool!

5. Next weekend we’re roadtripping across the border (into Oklahoma!) to see my sister. I miss her.

6. Yesterday Mark started painting the exterior of our house. It’s been on our major TO DO list since before we moved in, so it’s nice to finally get started.

7. Ever since Zoe’s freaky episode (possibly a stroke), she’s been fine. She’s running and jumping and playing and being her old self — and by old self, I really mean young self. I still worry about her, but I’m happy to see her acting like Zoe again.

8. Every single day lately, I have to do a double take with Creed. It’s like he grows overnight. Not just height-wise. He’s turning into a little boy, a little MAN. Talking and learning and exploring and copying and loving. I love him so much it hurts.

9. AND HE HAS CURLY HAIR!! He’s a spitting image of Mark at that age, but at least I know he inherited something from me. Curls are so CREED.

10. And speaking of growing up, my favorite times with Drew lately are early mornings when he crawls into bed with me and Mark. Crazy because I LOVE MY SLEEP, but the past few times he’s done it (every single day this week and last), I’ve seen how young and small and babyish he really is. I mean, yeah, he’s getting big and old and LITTLE MAN on me, but he’s still so……………..I don’t know……………….precious. And all I really want to do is bottle up the sound of his silly, sleepy giggles. I’m so in love with my boys. All 3 of them. My prayer today is that I won’t ever forget how big I’m blessed.
